I'm currently learning about languages, particularly ways to parse them. So far the terms LL and LALR have come up. They really puzzled me and I understand why now. They're a very short simplification of their actual terms.
LL means read Left to right, with a Leftmost derivation
LALR = LookAhead, Left to right, Right derivation
If you compare the two, you can see that only the most important terms were kept. So it's understandable but hard for the newbie to see right away. Also, I'm still unsure what it means to be "right derivation" or left for that matter. If anyone could explain it to me, I would be very grateful. Thanks!
