OpenROV Build

I recently bought an OpenROV. Now I'm trying to figure out how to build it.

This is a catalog of my questions.

Step 12 - What does "20awg stranded wire" mean? It is an American standard to describe the diameter of a single stranded wire.

Step 14 - What is potting? For potting, what are bushings? They seem to use them for the motor. Also, what are most of the materials which are used for potting? They're mostly new.
Potting seems to be using epoxy to block any (salt) water from reaching the electronics.

Step 15 - What are vice grip pliers? They are locking pliers.

Step 16 - What are forward button terminals on batteries?

Step 17 - What does aft mean? It means back, rear.

Step 33 - What is beveling and chamfering? I know beveling is something about making a surface area somewhat round.

Step 36 - What are set screws?

Step 37 - What is an M2 screw? a lock washer? An M2 screw is just the size of the screw. I know a washer is something that does the same thing as an o-ring but in metal form. Actually, now I wonder why some things use washers and others use o-rings; it's probably because it's a difference of trying to keep the liquid in or the solid metal together. A lock washer is a washer that is split.

Step 39 - Why do the motors need to be replaced? And about when are they replaced?

Step 45 - What is the right placement for the harness? The pictures don't show it clearly enough. I suppose it'll be easier to understand once I actually get to this step.

Step 47 - Auxiliary wires from what again?

Step 50 - What is the shroud?

Step 56 - What is a diagnoal cutter? I guess they're wire cutters where the blades on either side are diagonally slanted down.

Step 58 - Where are the electronic chassis and camera chassis connected? (So I can make sure the camera isn't closer to that section and bumpining it constantly.)

Step 59 - Perhaps I should 3D print a casing for the bottom portion instead of using electrical tape.

Step 82 - How do you sand the inside front edge and yet not sand the o-ring seal area? Aren't they the same?

Step 100 - What are the endcaps? And where is the battery tube in relation to the electronics tube? Its relationship is not shown in any of the pictures.

Building The OpenROV

January 2016, I finally started building the OpenROV with my friends. Brian, one of the people with OpenROV, helped us make sure we were putting the robot together properly. He also assured us that our mistakes were minor and wouldn't affect the overall robot much.
